Nissan Certified Pre-Owned: What the warranty actually covers

The Nissan CPO program is one of the strongest in the industry. Here's exactly what's included — and what isn't.

What qualifies as Nissan CPO?

To be eligible for Nissan's Certified Pre-Owned program, a vehicle must:
  • Be a 2019 model year or newer
  • Have fewer than 80,000 km
  • Pass a rigorous 169-point inspection performed by a Nissan-certified technician
  • Have a clean title with no unrepaired structural damage

The warranty breakdown

POWERTRAIN WARRANTY — 6 years / 120,000 km from original in-service date Covers engine, transmission, transaxle, drivetrain, and hybrid/EV components (on LEAF and ARIYA).

COMPREHENSIVE (BUMPER-TO-BUMPER) WARRANTY — remaining balance of new-vehicle warranty or 90 days / 3,000 km Covers nearly everything not listed under powertrain — electrical, HVAC, audio, safety systems.

24-HOUR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE — 6 years / 120,000 km Includes towing, flat tire, lockout, fuel delivery, and battery boost.

What isn't covered

  • Routine maintenance (oil, filters, brakes, tires)
  • Wear items (wipers, belts, bulbs)
  • Damage from accidents, misuse, or environmental factors
  • Modifications not approved by Nissan

CARFAX Canada vehicle history report

Every Nissan CPO includes a CARFAX report — you see the vehicle's full registration, accident, and service history before you buy.

Is CPO worth the premium over a standard used vehicle?

For peace of mind buyers: yes. The powertrain coverage alone can save thousands on an unexpected repair. For buyers who are mechanically inclined or purchasing an older model that doesn't qualify: a pre-purchase inspection by an independent shop can replicate some of that confidence for $100–$200.

At Morrey Nissan, all CPO vehicles are clearly identified in our inventory. The inspection checklist is available to review on request.
